Lindsay Lohan has finally realized she needs to avoid "those people" ... the ones creating massive temptation ... so say confidants of LiLo, who spoke with TMZ.
We're told Lindsay is spending the long weekend with a close friend by the beach in Venice, CA. As one friend put it, "She needs to get away from that scene ... and she knows it."
But it's not just the Hollywood clubs that create the danger of relapse. "The people who hang around her are such moochers, and bad energy," says one friend, adding, "she needs to cut them out and I think that's what she's starting to realize."
As for what Lindsay is doing, we're told a lot of sleeping, watching TV and movies. And shopping. Interesting ... more than one person says she desperately needs sleep.
The people we've spoken with say it's definitely too early to tell, but Lindsay had at least temporarily turned a corner and is healthier than she's been "in a long time."

Making the most of the beautiful Hawaiian sunshine, Lindsay Lohan was spotted prancing around in her bikini on Sunday (April 26) in Maui.
Joined by her sister Ali, the “Mean Girls” actress sunned herself while reading and chatting with a variety of passersby, adjusting her bathing suit bottom so as not to show the paps too much.
LiLo also spent some time over the weekend checking out the various shopping opportunities around town, making several purchases along the way.
Lindsay is presumably trying to escape the stresses and pressures of her life in Los Angeles, following a messy breakup and some killer career woes.

Preparing for a flight out of town, Lindsay Lohan was spotted arriving at LAX Aiprort in Los Angeles over the weekend.
The "Mean Girls" starlet looked calm and casual, walking past gawking pedestrians and paparazzi as she readied for takeoff.
Meanwhile, LiLo's on again/off again lover, Samantha Ronson, was busy doing her own thing in Soho, New York City.
Joined by her half-sister Annabelle, the pair looked less than pleased to have photogs on their trail, with Miss Ronson's sis covering her face with a newspaper in an attempt to avoid being photographed.

Taking in a beautiful spring breeze, Lindsay and Ali Lohan were spotted strolling around Burbank, California yesterday (April 15) on their way to Warner Bros. Studios.
The famous sisters both looked lovely as they headed inside for a business meeting, with LiLo giving a smile to the paparazzi as she passed by.
And though there are many people worried about the tumultuous “Mean Girls” actress in the wake of her professional and relational woes, ex-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama isn’t one of them. In a recent interview he stated his faith that she’ll be okay.
Wilmer told press, "She'll figure it out. Out of respect for her privacy, I don't want to say too much. But she's a good girl. She'll figure it out."

After spending their first official weekend apart, it is being reported that Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson were both spotted at the same West Hollywood restaurant last night (April 12).
E! News spies tell that after deejaying all weekend in San Francisco, SamRo joined a group of guy friends at Italian joint, Cecconi's, which happened to be the same place her ex “Mean Girls” star and mother, Dina, were dining.
Apparently, Ms Ronson stopped by Ms Lohan’s table for a brief hello - although the two got back to their own things shortly thereafter.
In related news, it is also being reported that LiLo was partying her blues away by drinking vodka all night long over the weekend, but according to E! News she stayed sober by “drinking something called Neuro Bliss” which is a non-alcoholic drink that is said to provide a sense of well-being.

Ever since her split from Lindsay Lohan over the past weekend, Samantha Ronson is ready for the drama to end. Unfortunately for SamRo, it may not be that easy.
According to friends of the disc jockey, "[Samantha] takes it pretty good – she acts tougher than she is. She just wants the drama to end."
Though Ronson's family is hoping this latest split will be for good, the pair's close social circle makes the separation that much more difficult, says the source. "Both Samantha and Lindsay could use a break and since there is so much crossover with their friends, it's been hard. Their lives are so intertwined."
Lucky for Sam, LiLo has been keeping busy hanging out with sister, Ali, and going out with her own pals since the dramatic breakup.
Venturing out all by her lonesome, Lindsay Lohan was spotted leaving a Hollywood Hills house party late on Friday night (April 10).
Fresh off of her breakup with Samantha Ronson, the "Mean Girls" starlet looked in high spirits, albeit at times irritated over the paparazzi presence.
And though their romance came to a bitter end last weekend, an insider close to the situation tells People magazine that Miss Lohan is still communicating with Miss Ronson.
"Sam and Lindsay are speaking," the source reveals. "But Sam has begged Lindsay to get help."
"Lindsay, despite appearances, is insecure and has relied on Samantha and their relationship to build her up," the insider explains. "Lindsay barely sleeps, which explains a lot of her behavior. She's exhausted. She can't even sit down for a minute without pacing around the room. It's really sad." 
The insider adds: “Police were called to the hotel to break up the pair of ex-lovers following some major drama between Lindsay and Samantha on Friday night.” As previously reported by Gossip Girls, Sam was deejaying at a party for her sister, Charlotte, at LA’s Bar Marmont and five bouncers had to block Lindsay from entering at the request of the Ronson family.
They’ve been known to have their problems, but it looks as if Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson may be finished as a couple.According to a Fame insider who spotted Miss Lohan with her mom and sister yesterday (April 4), LiLo has moved from her British girlfriend’s home and is currently staying at Chateau Marmont - with the photog telling that Lindsay’s assistant confirmed that the gal pals have definitely broken up!
