Last night (April 8) she hit a speedbump on the road to comeback, and today Britney Spears is saying ‘sorry’ for walking off stage during her Vancouver gig.
The “Gimme More” songstress’ Web site issued a statement earlier today explaining the snafu. "We want to apologize to all the fans who attended our Vancouver show tonight for the brief pause in Britney's set. Crew members above the stage became ill due to a ventilation issue."
The ‘ventilation issue’ caused Brit Brit to exit the stage for 30 minutes, and then reappear for an awkward few songs before briefly vanishing again.
During the long pause in the show, an announcer stated, "The building is awfully smoky. It is uncomfortable for everyone on stage, including Ms. Spears. Please extinguish all cigarettes - this is a non-smoking building, and the show will resume when the smoke on the stage is cleared."
She’s been basking in the glory of her killer comeback tour as of late, but last night Britney Spears showed signs that things may not be going as well as everyone thinks.
The “Toxic” songstress gave a concert in Vancouver, British Columbia, though fifteen minutes into the set she left the stage for more than a half hour.
The reason? Cigarette smoke. An announcement to the crowd stated, "The building is awfully smoky. It is uncomfortable for everyone on stage, including Ms. Spears. Please extinguish all cigarettes – this is a non-smoking building, and the show will resume when the smoke on the stage is cleared."
Finally, Brit Brit was back onstage, but she only made it through a couple more songs before she left again momentarily. Finally, she ended the show with “Womanizer,” telling the crowd, “Vancouver, don’t smoke weed.”
